Suggested load limits / caution

Determine cable diameter by checking weight of the hanging limits.
Please follow suggested load limits and appropriate cable selection.

Suggested load limits / caution

cable diameter selection guide ※1 tension load test result ※2
cable diameter(mm) nominal load(kg) maximum load(kgf) displacement(mm)
0.6φ 3 16.5~16.8 ―――――
0.8φ 5 30.2~34.5 ―――――
1.0φ 8 47.6~50.0 6~7(40kgf)
1.2φ 10 56.2~73.4 ―――――
1.5φ 30 84.8~95.7 10~11(40kgf)
2.0φ 50 143.0~146.4 17(40kgf)
2.5φ 70 228.0~242.0 9~13(40kgf)
3.0φ 100 310~330 5~8(40kgf)

※1  The load limits have been set at 1/3 of the static withstand load. There may be circumstances where a 1/5 safety factor needs to be considered.

※2  The test results are from the Tokyo Industrial Technology Center. Displacement is the value measured at a distance of 110mm between hardware.

※3  Suggested safety weight for hanging with multiple cables [Hanging with 2-4 cables], which are 60% of total each safety weight. Permission load in case of hanging with 5 cables and over, please make sure correspond to hanging with 4 cables. If you have any question in detail, please talk to our company.

Suggested safety weight for hanging with multiple cables

Permission load of plural suspended works

(Permission load of cable to use × the number)

Hanging with 1 cable (1.5mmφ)

Hanging with 1 cable (1.5mmφ)
30 kg × 1 = 30 kg

Hanging with 1 cable (1.5mmφ)

Total weight never over suggested safety weight (30 kg) at hanging multiple things. In the case of a piece of hanging with 1 cable, you can just apply the permission load.

Hanging with 1 cable (1.5mmφ)

When you increase in number of hanging works, because of the weight concentrate on metal fittings of a ceiling side, so please adjust it so that total load do not exceeded 30 kg.

Hanging with 2 cables (1.5mmφ)

Hanging with 2 cables (1.5mmφ)
30 kg ×2×0.6=36 kg

Hanging with 2 cables (1.5mmφ)

Total weight never over suggested safety weight (36 kg) at hanging multiple things. You can not use that 30kg × 2 = 60kg. Please make sure 60 % coefficient of sake to use safely.

Hanging with 2 cables (1.5mmφ)

When you increase in number of hanging works, because of the weight concentrate on metal fittings of a ceiling side, so please adjust it so that total load do not exceeded 36 kg.

Hanging with 4 cables (1.5mmφ)

Hanging with 4 cables (1.5mmφ)
30 kg × 4 × 0.6 = 72 kg

Hanging with 4 cables (1.5mmφ)

Total weight never over suggested safety weight (72 kg) at hanging multiple things. You can not use that 30 kg × 4 = 120 kg. Please make sure 60 % coefficient of sake to use safely.

Hanging with 4 cables (1.5mmφ)

When you increase in number of hanging works, because of the weight concentrate on metal fittings of a ceiling side, so please adjust it so that total load do not exceeded 72 kg.

Please follow instructions bellow regarding usage of the single cable

  • If cable is to be used repeatedly, it may be damaged over time. Check before use to ensure the cable is not damaged. [drawing #1]
  • Ensure the cable will not come in contact with materials other than Grippers, such as shelves, wall or pipes. This may damage the cable. [drawing #1]
  • Use stainless steel. [7 × 7 SUS304] Standard steel cable. Standard steel cable may rust, which will weaken the cable.
  • When cutting cable, please make sure to solder the cable end.
  • Ensure the cable is inserted completely in to the gripper. [drawing #2]
  • Do not intentionally apply pressure when a cable is tensioned.[tension gripper for balustrade]
  • One cable may get unexpected load more than safety limit due to swing and unbalance of load. Please select the gripper which has enough capacity of safety weight. [drawing #3]

Please follow instruction for the usage of the grippers

  • Refer to "display application" in our catalog. If you have further questions, please contact us.
  • When fastening the grippers to floor, ceiling, and wall make sure to fasten tightly and be sure to select the most appropriate type of anchors.
  • Ensure the gripper is properly installed. [drawing #4]
  • Make sure that the direction of the cable and the grippers will be in a straight line. Otherwise, please use "universal type", if you make angle on the cable. [drawing #5]
  • When using the grippers designed to attach to the cables already mounted from floor to ceiling [FMG-1,FMB-1, etc.], make sure they are firmly attached to the cables before use. [drawing #6]
  • When using "-S" type grippers, make sure to tighten the safety cap [S] after final adjustment of their position.
  • Dust and debris may clog the mechanism of the gripper. If this occurs, replace it with a new one.
  • When you use the grippers such as AM-23, BS-23, SF-23, MF-23 to stretch cables on the floor, make the cables hare appropriate tension adjusting by hand. Over tension causes severance of cables and destroy of screw and anchor.
